The Pharmacy Automation Technician is licensed Pharmacy Technician that is responsible for set-up and safe operation of the designated production equipment in the KnippeRx Pharmacy.  Responsibilities will include feeding materials into the machines, and ensuring the hoppers are equally fed with raw materials so that the machines are running at capacity. The Pharmacy Automation Technician will be able to diagnose and treat mechanical problems, making minor repairs or adjustments and replace machine components utilized in production.  Ongoing monitoring of the output is necessary to confirm the machines are operating as expected, and to produce the final product that complies with Quality standards. 

 

Shifts:

M-Th: 8:00-6:30

T– F: 8:00-6:30

 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all tasks in compliance with the Board of Pharmacy, SOPs, Equipment Manuals, and OSHA regulations.
  • Setup, adjust and maintain sachet creation machines and packaging line.
  • Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance steps in compliance with manual.
  • Assist with loading rolls of film onto the sachet machine, and ensure it is properly aligned
  • Maintain levels of raw materials, including drug product, across multiple hoppers on each machine to make sure they are running at capacity and to minimize defects.
  • Identify defects and make appropriate changes to prevent ongoing waste.
  • Perform some troubleshooting, making minor repairs where needed.
  • Escalate more complicated equipment problems to Production Mechanics.
  • Collaborate with Production Mechanics by providing a summary of the issue and trouble-shooting steps already taken.
  • Minimize downtime on the machines and communicate any downtime to Management.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Perform evening shutdown tasks, including recording of daily output.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • State specific Pharmacy Technician License, or commitment to complete the ‘technician in training’ requirements approved by the state specific Board of Pharmacy, within 6 months of hire date
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • One (1) year of previous specialty pharmacy technician experience with exposure to fulfillment of prescription orders
  • One (1) year of pharmacy operations or logistics experience
  • Nationally certified through the PTCB or another approved certifying agency
