The Inventory Lead, 3PL is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all inventory control-related activities. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper stock levels, and delegating tasks to inventory staff. The Inventory Lead, 3PL will collaborate with various departments to ensure that inventory processes are efficient and effective, and will play a key role in minimizing inventory discrepancies and improving overall warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inventory Management:
      • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels meet business needs.
      • Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts to verify accuracy.
      • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
      • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock accuracy.
    • Leadership:
      • Monitor a team of inventory control specialists, providing guidance and support.
      • Train and mentor inventory staff, ensuring they understand best practices and company procedures.
      • Coordinate with other department leads to streamline operations and improve workflow efficiency.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting:
      • Utilize inventory management software to track and analyze inventory data.
      • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies, and other key metrics for management review.
      • Identify trends and provide recommendations for inventory optimization.
    • Collaboration and Communication:
      • Work closely with the purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to forecast demand and manage stock levels.
      • Communicate inventory issues and potential shortages to relevant departments.
      • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
    • Compliance and Safety:
      • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal regulations related to inventory management.
      • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Education/Training:

 

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory management or a related field.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
    • Proficient in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS) and MS Office Suite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is:

  • Frequently required to stand or sit
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently expected to work in refrigerated conditions
  • Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds

 

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily works in a warehouse environment with some office duties.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work depending on business needs
