The Pharmacy Business Analyst supports CareTria Pharmacy by planning, designing, and improving business systems, operational workflows, and data driven insights that enable safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy and patient support operations. This role partners closely with pharmacy operations, clinical teams, patient services, technology, compliance, and finance to translate business needs into clear requirements, actionable analyses, and scalable solutions.

 

The Business Analyst gathers and analyzes operational, clinical, and financial data to support business cases, regulatory initiatives, technology enhancements, and process improvement efforts. This individual produces clear reporting, root cause analysis, and solution options that improve patient access, service quality, compliance posture, and cost efficiency. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential to maximize the value of CareTria Pharmacy’s systems and operational investments.

Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering, Analysis, and Design

  • Partner with pharmacy leadership, operations, clinical, compliance, patient services, and technology stakeholders to understand work-flows, business needs, and regulatory requirements
  • Document current state and future state pharmacy processes, system work-flows, data flows, and operational dependencies
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, functional specifications, process maps, data definitions, and reporting requirements aligned to CareTria standards
  • Develop and present alternative solution options with clear trade-offs related to compliance, scalability, cost, and operational impact
  • Ensure solutions align with applicable pharmacy regulations, privacy requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies
    Facilitate review and approval of documented requirements with stakeholders
  • Lead working sessions and design reviews to improve pharmacy operations, patient experience, and information flow
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues across existing or in development pharmacy systems and work-flows
  • Evaluate system effectiveness and operational performance, recommending enhancements and risk mitigation strategies

Development and Implementation Support

  • Review requirements with technical and operational partners, addressing questions and clarifying intent
  • Participate in solution design sessions to ensure alignment with pharmacy work-flows and end user needs
  • Monitor progress during build and configuration phases to ensure adherence to approved requirements
  • Act as a liaison between pharmacy operations, compliance, and technical teams throughout implementation
  • Identify and manage issues, risks, and dependencies during solution development

Testing and Validation

  • Support development of test plans, test cases, and validation scenarios tied directly to documented requirements
  • Participate in unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing for pharmacy systems and reporting tools
  • Validate that solutions meet operational, regulatory, and reporting requirements prior to deployment
  • Participate in defect triage and resolution discussions, distinguishing between defects, enhancements, and scope changes

General Responsibilities

  • Support planning, design, deployment, and post implementation stabilization of pharmacy solutions
  • Provide ongoing analytical and reporting support to pharmacy leadership and operational teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, scalability, and financial performance
  • Conduct research on systems, tools, and best practices to support informed recommendations

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Health-care Management, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in pharmacy, health-care, life sciences, or regulated service operations
  • Experience as a business or operations analyst, preferably in health-care, pharmacy, or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting senior leaders in high accountability environments
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, health-care regulations (e.g., HIPAA), and pharmacy software systems (e.g., pharmacy management systems, electronic health records).
  • Familiarity with Health-care / Pharmacy related applications for CRM system (Sales-force) a plus
  • Certified Scrum-Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certifications a plus.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, data modeling, and automation
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including database design, queries, relationships, and data integrity management
  • Advanced experience with data visualization and analytics platforms, including Tableau
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, and performance optimization
  • Ability to integrate data from multiple source systems and translate complex datasets into clear, executive ready insights
  • Experience building standardized operational, financial, and compliance dashboards for leadership and client facing use
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex systems and work-flows. 
  • Proven experience in system implementation, integration, and process improvement. 
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Familiarity with health-care technologies, including pharmacy management systems, electronic prescribing, and pharmacy dispensing systems. 
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools, SQL to review / extract data, reporting platforms, and database management systems  
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Office-based role. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and an Agile sprint schedule.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be necessary for system testing or project implementation.
  • Extensive computer use and manual dexterity (keyboarding, mouse, phone)
  • Regular use of computer and phone for communication
  • Noise and/or vibrations exposure
  • Frequently reach (overhead), handle, and feel with hands and arms
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time
